Putting himself into one of Japan\u2019s top art &amp; musical education schools, Tokyo University of Art where he learned Classical and Contemporary Classical Music composition. Although, his productions are based on Hip Hop, Electronics, Dub, Jazz and Drone, with a rough texture layered, abstractly creating a mood as if the orchestra being replaced with samples.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb8\">After releasing enough albums, EPs and producing tracks for top underground Japanese MCs, he got hooked up by Ryuichi Sakamoto\u2019s \u2018commons\u2019 label and released album \u201cBIRD\u201d in 2011. Also connecting with dublab and many L.A. artists, he got his track included in \u201cKUTMAH MIX\u201d mix-CD alongside with Madlib, Ras G, Flying Lotus and many more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb8\">He founded a personal-label &#8216;TAMURA\u2019 that holds up creativity first, and has released three experimental and challenging titles \u201cC\u201d, \u201cBUUUUUL SHHHHHIT&#8221;, \u201cSMAAAAALL BEAAAAATS\u201d. Together with Japanese noise musicians Masami Akita (Merzbow) and Masaya Nakahara (Violent Onsen Geisha) she formed the band Muscats in 1992. Later that year Hanayo was featured on the cover of The Facemagazine\u2019s December issue in full geisha attire. In 1993 she modeled for a Jean Paul Gaultier advertising campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb8\">In 1995 Hanayo finished her geisha work and moved to Europe. In 1997 she joined German director\/performance artist Christoph Schlingensief for several projects: She portrayed Yoko Ono in the performance Mein Filz, mein Fett, mein Hase at documenta X in Kassel. She took part in Schlingensief\u2019s performance Passion Impossible at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg and had a role in his theatre play Die letzten Tage der Rosa Luxemburg at the Berliner Ensemble. In 2000 Hanayo starred in Shane O&#8217;Sullivan\u2019s film Second Generation.Hanayo\u2019s single Joe le taxi has been featured on many compilations, including 2 Many DJs with Soulwax. She has performed with musicians and bands such as Violent Onsen Geisha, Red Crayola, Vapid Dolly, Black Dog, Jun Miyake, Merzbow, Woodman, Kai Althoff, Terre Thaemlitz, The Panacea, Pain Cake (with Locust Fudge) and Ponpons.
